Checklist - A Campout with Vehicle Access
Items to Bring on a Campout

• Tent (if possible)
• Cot, foam pad or air mattress
• Sleeping bag (proper Temperature rating) and Small pillow
• Large Duffel bag or backpack (everything has to be in some type of bag with a name on it)
• Headlamp with extra batteries (preferably not a flashlight)
• Scout Uniform
• Boy Scout Handbook
• Boy Scout Requirements Book 2009
• Folder with paper and 2 pens
• Personal Size First Aid kit with extra bandages
• Watch
• Compass and Map of Area
• Pocketknife (less than 3” blade)
• Mosquito repellant
• Sun-Tan Lotion
• Small Camera
• Miscellaneous spending money ($10 maximum)
• Clothing
  • Sturdy Outdoor Shoes (not new)
  • 2^nd pair of hiking or stiff soled Tennis shoes (not new)
  • Extra socks and underwear
  • Pants and belt
  • Shirt
  • Sweater (can use it as pajama top)
  • Baseball cap or hat
  • Raincoat or Waterproof Poncho
  • Jacket or coat
  • Beach clothing if needed: Swim suit, large towel, Aqua-socks (or old tennis shoes), goggles
• Toiletries
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Comb
  • Soap
  • Hand towel

Personal Cooking and Eating Supplies:

• a clear, waterproof plastic bag to carry all personal cooking and utensils in
• Water bottle or canteen – 1 quart
• Plate, Bowl, Cup
• Utensils
• Paper towels or napkins
• Assigned Food
• If you bring snacks, they have to be shared equally among all Scouts.

Do not bring: Game Boys, IPods, headphones, cards, toys, radios, CD/DVD’s, Computers, Cigarette lighters, knives with over 3” blades, Fireworks, Non-Scouting books or magazines, etc.  These will be taken away and probably not returned.

  • 5 gallon clear, collapsible water container
  • Metal Tongs for lifting cans or Aluminum foil out of fire

  • Metal hotdog/marshmallow sticks
  • Coleman stove
